Who loves you more than you can even love yourself?
Who is always available to help, when you decide to turn to Him?
While we have a need to focus on the Lord rather than on the distractions, fears, and conflicts in the world, we need to also realize how much our Creator loves us.
Each of us have been on His mind from before we were even formed in the womb; we each were given unique abilities, talents, and purpose. He knows the number of hairs on our head!
Truly, the depth of our Heavenly Father’s love for us was proven when He sacrificed His only son, Jesus, to atone for our sins; and Jesus arose!
Are any of your problems too great for Him to handle? When you realize how great the love Almighty God has for you, you can learn to turn to Him, and in that, grow in love of Him.

How can we reach true happiness, contentment, and satisfaction?
What must we do to achieve a healthy, balanced life?
In today’s society, self-love is promoted, even if it’s not in a healthy balance. Many people set themselves up to believe they are self-sufficient, expecting the best of everything for themselves, believing they deserve the very best. Some may think all good things happening is because of what they’ve done themselves, giving no credit to others or to the Lord.
But ultimately, with that mindset, there is no real or lasting satisfaction: there will always be comparison and envy of what others have, bringing on disappointment.
The Greatest Commandment that Jesus shared while on earth is this: “Love the Lord your God with all you heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength… the second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself…” found in Mark 12:29-31, New International Version (NIV)
When we realize how awesome the Love of God is for us, we in turn love Him. Then we can truly love ourselves and others.
Doesn’t your happiness, contentment, and satisfaction grow when:
- You’ve come to the Lord in repentance of all your sins, the slate is clean and your conscious is clear?
- You turned to Him in prayer and praise, leaning on Him with all of your burdens, problems, and sorrows, leaving them all in His Hands?
- Your priorities include helping others, forgiving offenses, and walking in the purpose that you know you were meant for?
What else will grow your happiness, contentment, and satisfaction? When you practice the Fruit of the Spirit, described in Galatians 5:22-23 and because of your faith, you are not upset about the past nor worried about today or tomorrow. How can we love those who are different than ourselves?
What does it take to love despite political and cultural differences?
While we have a need to focus on the Lord rather than on the distractions, fears, and conflicts in the world, that brings us to the realization that our Creator loves us, and He is in control. In that, we can love ourselves and with His guidance, learn to love those who are different than ourselves.
We look at the story of Jesus at the well with the Samaritan woman, and the parable of the Good Samaritan. Why are these stories significant? Wouldn’t it be easy to love those who are like ourselves? But we are to love our neighbor, show mercy to people in need. Love Others is on Video at https://youtu.be/1clo5YekFTk
You may be in a quandary, asking, “Even if I am able to forgive those who have deliberately hurt me, how can I love them? How can I pray for them?”
Jesus instructs that we also love our enemies (Matthew 5). How can we do this?
In Love Your Enemies on video, https://youtu.be/YhDE8TisOCc, I share how the Lord walked me through the journey of being able to not only forgive, but to also love and even pray for my enemy. Maybe this will help you in this quandary?
