Loving Ourselves the Way God Loves Us
There was a time in my life when I struggled to see myself the way God sees me. I carried wounds and let the world’s judgments shape how I viewed my worth. Maybe you’ve felt that, too. Maybe you’ve looked in the mirror and questioned your value or heard voices from your past whispering lies about who you are.
Know that we are not meant to live defeated. We are fearfully and wonderfully made, and our identity is rooted in the truth of God’s Word, not the opinions of others. Learning to love ourselves is part of learning to trust God. He didn’t create us to walk through life in shame or self-doubt. He created us to live with purpose, confidence, and peace.
I’ve written books about hope and faith to help women like you and me believe that truth. If you’re looking for inspirational books for women, I want to share a few that have helped me and may encourage you on your journey.
The Truth About Worth: What Scripture Says
The world is loud with its definitions of beauty, success, and value. But God’s voice is steady and true. In the Bible, we read:
- “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14)
- “You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you” (Isaiah 43:4)
- “Nothing can separate us from the love of God” (Romans 8:38-39)
These verses have been anchors for me. When the enemy tried to convince me I was too broken, too far gone, or unworthy of love, I clung to these truths. Maybe you’ve believed those lies, too. Let me gently remind you: you are beloved, created on purpose, and God has not forgotten you.
Books on trusting God and books about hope and faith can help us replace those old lies with the truth of who we are in Christ. That’s why I write. That’s why I share my story.
Encouraging Women Through the Written Word
For years, I carried pain that I didn’t quite know how to process. Domestic abuse left emotional scars that took time to heal. Through prayer, therapy, and the comfort of God’s Word, I began to rebuild. Writing became part of my healing. It helped me name the pain, and it gave me a voice.
Now, as a Christian author, I write to encourage women who feel stuck, wounded, or alone. My goal isn’t to offer quick fixes. It’s to walk with you through the hard places and point you toward the One who heals. I want every woman who picks up my books to feel seen, heard, and reminded of her worth.
Recommended Reads for Women Seeking Spiritual Confidence
I’ve learned that when we root our confidence in who God says we are, not in what the world tries to define us by, something powerful happens. We begin to walk differently. We speak more gently to ourselves. We remember we are loved. That’s why I want to share a few books that have helped me reconnect with that truth.
- Joy in the Valley – This book was born out of a season of deep physical and emotional pain. I struggled with debilitating nerve issues that interrupted every part of my life. But through it all, God revealed lessons about joy, strength, and surrender. Joy in the Valley is about learning to see yourself as a beloved daughter of God, even in the valley. If you’re walking through pain, this book will remind you that your story isn’t over. You are stronger than you think, and God is with you every step.
- Sharing Our Journey of Coming to Jesus – I had the privilege of compiling this beautiful collection of testimonies from 12 believers, each sharing their unique path to salvation. My story is in there, too. These stories remind us that no two journeys look the same, but God is always working. Reading other women’s stories may be a powerful reminder that you’re not alone. Sharing Our Journey is one of those inspirational books for women that will stir your heart and help you see God’s hand in your own life.
- Are You Stuck in the Dance of Conflict? – Conflict can wear us down. Whether it’s with a partner, a friend, or even within ourselves, it can distort how we see our worth. Are You Stuck in the Dance of Conflict? explores how to navigate toxicity with grace and wisdom. This book is about reclaiming peace. It’s about recognizing the patterns that keep us stuck and learning how to move forward with God’s help. If conflict has stolen your joy or shaken your confidence, this book can help you reconnect with the truth of who you are and how deeply you’re loved.
Learning to Trust God with Ourselves
Trusting God is also about trusting what He says about us. I used to doubt myself constantly. I compared. I criticized. I hid. Slowly, through Scripture and time spent with the Lord, I started to surrender that inner critic.
Know that God doesn’t make mistakes and He doesn’t abandon what He creates.
If you struggle to believe in your own value, I want to encourage you to try something simple: journal your thoughts, write down a verse that speaks to you, or pick up one of the healing books I’ve mentioned here. God often speaks through pages just as clearly as He does through prayer.
You are worth loving.
God has not forgotten you. He is not ashamed of you. He is proud of you. You’re still here, still trying, and still growing. That is worth celebrating.
If you’re searching for Christian authors who write from a place of truth and compassion, I’d love for you to explore my work and find inspirational books for women, books about trusting God, and resources that meet you right where you are.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just need to take one step toward hope.
